Appendices

The ideas in the The Falling Apart Syndrome are supported by information in the appendices listed below:

  1. Appendix  I lists disorder-microbe pairs (www.polymicrobial.com⁄attach⁄App_I_Disorder-Microbe.pdf).
  2. Appendix II lists microbe-disorder pairs (www.polymicrobial.com⁄attach⁄App_II_Microbe-Disorder.pdf).
  3. Appendix III lists disorder-disorder pairs (www.polymicrobial.com⁄attach⁄App_III_Disorder-Disorder.pdf).

If you have any of the disorders listed in the appendices, don't take my word for their association with the listed microbes--your doctor won't be interested in any list I've made. To give your doctor something useful and believable, go to PubMed (www.pubmed.gov) and look up the studies linking the disorder to the microbes. Print any interesting abstracts and give them to your doctor.
If you find any errors or omissions in the appendices, send me the URLs of the applicable scientific articles. My email address is: russ@potbellysyndrome.com.
The lists are not comprehensive; most of the pairs are just items I stumbled across while working on The Potbelly Syndrome and The Falling Apart Syndrome. There are thousands more in PubMed (www.pubmed.gov), and I'm sure there are thousands more waiting to be discovered.
This lists are not very systematic. For instance, some studies call a heart attack a "heart attack" and other studies call them "myocardial infarctions." I generally used the terms the authors of the studies used. Consequently, to make a complete list of the microbes associated with heart attacks, you will have check Appendix I for "heart attack" and "myocardial infarction."
There are no descriptions of the disorders or the microbes. In the future I hope to create an internet-accessible database with descriptions and citations. I have a lot of the data--I just don't have the skill, time, or energy to create the database.
The tables in the appendices did not sort perfectly--I hope to get that fixed soon.
The smooth versions of The Falling Apart Syndrome will have subsets of the lists in the appendices. I hope to keep the appendices available on the internet even if the book is published on paper sometime.
